Meals on Wheels Montgomery County takes aim at senior hunger with 11th Annual Great Pumpkin Shoot

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Meals on Wheels Montgomery County (MOWMC) invites businesses, community leaders and sporting clays enthusiasts to “Take Aim at Senior Hunger” at the 11th Annual Great Pumpkin Shoot on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Able’s Sporting in Huntsville, Texas.

Community is invited to register teams and sponsor October 2 sporting clays tournament benefiting local homebound seniors and veterans

As demand for home-delivered meals and transportation services continues to rise, MOWMC has had to utilize a waitlist. Funds raised through the tournament stay in Montgomery County and directly support services for local homebound seniors and veterans.

"Every participant and sponsor helps us move closer to a future where no senior is left waiting for meals and critical services," said Carrie Watkins, President & CEO of Meals on Wheels Montgomery County. "The Pumpkin Shoot is more than a fundraiser. It's a community effort to care for our neighbors."

A Day of Friendly Competition for a Great Cause
The Great Pumpkin Shoot begins with registration at 7:00 a.m., followed by welcome remarks and a safety briefing, with tournament play beginning at 9:00 a.m. Lunch, beverages, awards and raffle drawings begin at 11:45 a.m.

Shooting team registrations include a team golf cart, breakfast, birds, ammunition, and lunch with adult beverages following the shoot. A variety of sponsorship opportunities are still available, giving businesses and community partners an opportunity to support MOWMC’s mission while receiving recognition throughout the event.
