Condition of the Week: Disc & Joint Damage
Hi there, HealthSource COW-munity
This week’s Condition of the Week (COW) is Disc & Joint — something most families deal with every year, often for far too long.
What is Disc & Joint Damage?
Disc and joint damage occurs when the cushioning structures of the spine or joints (such as the knees or hips) become worn, injured, or compressed. This can lead to pain, stiffness, and limited mobility that interferes with daily life.
Common signs may include:
• Chronic pain or stiffness in the back, neck, or joints
• Reduced range of motion or difficulty moving
• Numbness, tingling, or weakness in the affected area
• Swelling or tenderness around the affected joint
Did You Know?
Many disc-related symptoms aren't caused by permanent damage; they're caused by compression. When presssure is reduced, the body often has the ability to heal.
Why it often persists
Disc and joint damage commonly develops from a combination of natural aging, repeated stress, poor posture (think forward head posture at computers or phones), and sometimes excess weight. Treating symptoms alone, without relieving compression, can allow pain to linger.
How we approach this at HealthSource
At HealthSource, we focus on natural, non-invasive, corrective care designed to address the why behind the symptoms, not just mask the discomfort.
One of the most impactful tools we use is spinal decompression therapy with our DocTable, which gently relieves pressure on compressed discs, improves circulation, and supports the healing process — often helping patients avoid injections or surgery.
No one should have to live in pain simply because a disc is compressed.
"I'd lived with lower back pain for years and honestly thought it was something I had to live with and accept. After starting decompression on the DocTable, the pressure eased, my pian dropped, and I finally started moving without fear or pain again. It gave me my life back" - Edgar

Sometimes prevention starts before symptoms appear.
