HTX Soccer Welcomes Leroy Zuiddam to the Girls Academy Staff

HTX Soccer is excited to announce the addition of Leroy Zuiddam to our Girls Academy staff, bringing with him nearly two decades of coaching experience across the United States and Europe, as well as a proven track record in player development and high-performance environments.

Most recently, Leroy Zuiddam served as Girls High Performance Director at GFI Academy from 2023 to 2026.

Prior to GFI Academy, he was the Director of Coaching at TFC / TotalTech from 2020 to 2023 and spent three years as an Academy Coach with Houston Dutch Lions FC from 2017 to 2020. His coaching journey also includes valuable international experience, having worked within the renowned youth academy system of Sparta Rotterdam in the Netherlands as a Youth Academy Coach and completing a player development internship with FK Panevezys in Lithuania.

His coaching career began in his native Netherlands, where he spent nearly a decade coaching youth players at FC Binnenmaas and Lewedorpse Boys, building a strong foundation in player centered development that continues to shape his coaching philosophy today.

A lifelong student of the game, Coach Leroy holds the prestigious USSF A License (2026) and has earned a Master in High Performance Football (2022) as well as an Expert License in Youth Football Development through MBP School of Coaches and The Coaches Voice. He also holds associate degrees in Physical Education from Albeda College and CIOS Goes in the Netherlands.

Leroy competed for his hometown clubs, v.v. Puttershoek and FC Binnenmaas, before multiple knee injuries brought his competitive playing career to an end at age 24. Those experiences helped shape his passion for coaching and mentoring young athletes.

Originally from Puttershoek, Netherlands, Leroy first came to the United States in 2017 and now resides in Conroe, Texas, with his wife and their two young children.
