THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The ‘Rad Racer’ ‘a fitting tribute’ to Conrad Nicklus, the 25 year-old-son of Jeff (and Cindy) Nicklus, of Texas’s own Desperado Motorcycles, will be shown at the Lone Star Bike Rally in Galveston, Texas October 31 - November 3, 2013.

Master Builder Jeff Nicklus has found a way to honor his son by finishing the bike that Conrad started before his tragic death in July 2012. This ‘magnificent tribute’ to an amazing young man has captured the spirit and heart of a very talented kid. Last year’s Republic of Texas rally was the last event Conrad Nicklus attended, with his father, before his life was cut short.

In Sturgis 2012, just two weeks after the young Nicklus passed away, bike enthusiasts and Nicklus supporters honored Conrad by an impromptu rally ride that captured the very spirit that is Conrad, raising funds for the Conrad Nicklus Memorial Fund (The Memorial Fund has been refilled for 501(3c) status and will be renamed the Conrad Nicklus Foundation). All funds raised are being used to support the under graduate educational pursuits of young men and women in Texas.

Conrad was born and raised in Texas, graduated from The Woodlands High School, attended The University of Texas at San Antonio, Lone Star College and Sam Houston State University he lacked only six hours of graduating with a degree in Business and had just started his own company, Impressive Motorsports at the time of his passing. Conrad was very proud of his Texas heritage and roots. His parents therefore decided that while Sturgis was a great place to start the rally, they wanted to bring it ‘home’ – Texas home, and have it take place each year in his beloved State. Conrad loved the Lone Star Bike Rally because it was close to his home in The Woodlands and because it is one of the biggest rallies in Texas. It is only fitting that the Lone Star Bike Rally serves as the premier event honoring this amazing young man.

Indian Motorcycles and The Lone Star Rally Team will host this year’s “Conrad’s Ride.” Indian will provide their Demo Fleet for all ride participants, who provide proof of motorcycle endorsement on their driver’s license and complete a release form, as well as gift bags, will be provided to all Indian Motorcycle riders at the completion of the ride. The Lone Star Rally Team along with Indian Motorcycles will provide food for all ride participants in the VIP Tent following the ride.

On Saturday, November 2, beginning at 8 a.m. at Fish Tales all riders are encouraged to show their support for Conrad and his love for the motorcycle industry by taking part in this worthy event. There is no fee to participate in the ride, however, for a $10 contribution; riders will receive the annual “Conrad’s Ride, Lone Star Rally 2013” patch.

Checks are made to Conrad Nicklus Memorial Fund.
