CONROE, Texas - The Cy-Fair Bobcats used a strong second half of shooting en route to a 70-64 non-district win at Oak Ridge on Tuesday night.

Oak Ridge (6-7) came out strong defensively in the first quarter forcing Cy-Fair into nine turnovers in the first half and limiting Cy-Fair to just 8-of-22 shooting from the floor. The War Eagles had several leads of 7, 8, 9, and 10 points each in the first half.

In the second half Cy-Fair (9-4) got the offense clicking shooting 57% while forcing nine War Eagle turnovers. The turnovers slowed down the War Eagles fast break offense as they only got two points in transition in the second half, compared to 10 fast break points in the first half.

The War Eagles tied the game 53-53 on a three-pointer by Senior forward Cameron Prejean with 3:47 left in the fourth quarter, however couldn't get the offense to click down the stretch.

“We stopped doing the things in the second half that we were doing in the first half. Part of the reason is we got tired, we rode our starters in the first half, we only had three points from our bench and a bunch of fouls. We started playing not to lose, not to win and were back on our heels a little bit,” said War Eagles Head Coach Neil Laminack.

Oak Ridge continues the non-district slate on Friday, December 19, at 7pm at Klein (7-3).
