HS Basketball Scoreboard: Three-pointers lead Oak Ridge boys to win, CP girls fall to Westfield

Oak Ridge 58, Waller 54

Oak Ridge’s three-point shooting helped the War Eagles snap a three-game losing streak with a four-point win over the Bulldogs. All 12 of AJ Osborne’s team-leading points came from three-point land. Ian Egele connected twice from three on his way to scoring 10 points in the win.

The War Eagles struggled to score inside in the first half, but shots from three were falling early and Oak Ridge leaned on that to stay in the game. 15 of The Ridge’s 22 first-half points came from threes as Oak Ridge and Waller went into halftime tied at 22.

Oak Ridge was slow out of the gate in the second half, but the War Eagles eventually found their shooting form when they needed it most. Osborne scored nine of his 12 in the second half to re-energize the home side. AJ Badger scored his six points on the night from behind the arc, including a big shot to give the War Eagles some breathing room down the stretch. Geriah Pruitt and Ricky Trevino teamed up to make some clutch plays late in the final quarter. Pruitt also came up big defensively to help secure the win.
