THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Friends of Texas Wildlife are pleased to invite you to the ribbon-cutting ceremony for our newest flight enclosure on Wednesday, August 31 at 12:00 p.m. This ceremony will take place at 29816 Dobbin Huffsmith Road, Magnolia, TX 77354.

This flight enclosure, built to the specifications set by U.S. Fish and Wildlife and Texas Parks & Wildlife, will enable Friends of Texas Wildlife to rehabilitate the very largest birds of prey in our area, including bald eagles. All injured or orphaned birds need room to exercise their wings and be flight conditioned in preparation for release, and that is the purpose of this new enclosure. The all-wood structure measures 100’ x 24’ x 16 high. Friends of Texas Wildlife have been raising funds for over four years to construct this facility, and it was built with all private funding and donations. This flight enclosure is only the fourth such enclosure in the entire of Texas.

Friends of Texas Wildlife rehabilitate injured, orphaned, and displaced native Texas wildlife and release them back into the wild when they are healed. We have served Montgomery County as well as many surrounding counties since 1993. As a 501©(3) non-profit organization, we receive no funding from any local, state, or federal agency; we exist solely through fundraising and donations.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, we will be placing a juvenile bald eagle we have been raising since April into the enclosure to begin the final phase of his flight conditioning. As we are certain this will be quite a photo op, we hope you will be able to join us. Please RSVP to www.ftwl.org.
