THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- You see them on the streets, you see them at crime scenes, you seem them responding to emergencies.

But do you really know the people behind the badge?

Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable Ryan Gable wants law enforcement and residents to get to know each other on a friendly, informal level, which is the purpose behind Coffee with the Cops.

"It gives us the opportunity to meet with residents on a personal level instead of a business level," Gable said.

Coffee with the Cops is scheduled monthly through December, with the next one taking place Tuesday Oct. 10 at Momentum Coffee in Spring. The event location changes each month in order to reach as many residents within the precinct as possible.

"They meet the deputies who patrol their subdivision and would be responding to their calls," Gable said.

Coffee with the Cops encourages conversation about community issues and neighborhood concerns – or it can simply be to get acquainted.

"They get to know us a little more, see that we're actual people and that we are genuine about their concerns," Gable said.
