Volunteer Auxiliary of Conroe Regional Medical Center contributes $1,500 to Children's Safe Harbor

CONROE, Texas -- The Volunteer Auxiliary of Conroe Regional Medical Center has recently presented a $1,500 contribution to Children’s Safe Harbor (CSH).

The volunteer auxiliary group, which provides attention and direction to the patients and families who come the Conroe Regional Medical Center for services, raised the funds through the hospital’s gift shop. Over the past four years, this caring group of volunteers has donated $2,500 to Children’s Safe Harbor. With this year’s donation, they have provided $11,500 to daily operations of this children’s advocacy center.

Children's Safe Harbor offers specialized services to traumatized and abused children (ages 2-17) and their families. Children can share their experiences of abuse through a unique narrative investigation process called a forensic interview. Specialized medical evaluations and weekly individual, family, and group counseling services are all available at no cost to the child victims and their non-offending family members. As a nationally-accredited nonprofit organization serving Montgomery, San Jacinto and Walker counties, Children’s Safe Harbor is part of a nationwide effort to protect and enhance the life of every child who has the courage to battle sexual or severe physical abuse by healing the trauma of abuse and facilitating justice for children and their families.

“As we approach our twentieth anniversary in August, we continue to see a significant increase in the number of children we serve, largely due to the growing population in Montgomery County.
