Coach Scott Holland: This was a great opportunity before the long weekend for those not competing at Texas Relays to get a meet in. Several Personal Records (PRs) were set as well as season best performances. We are seeing results of our hard training throughout the season. I am very proud of the efforts of all these athletes.

3/30-31 at Texas Relays

Coach Scott Holland: We took a record number to Texas Relays. This year’s event was highlighted by the boys’ 4X400m relay team. Thomas Elkhoury, Evan Burchfiel, Tega Ewherdio and Eric Grosser earned the final (9th) qualifying spot, Friday afternoon, with a season’s best time of 3:28.46. This allowed them the opportunity to run in the finals, Saturday, in front of 8,000 plus track fans. This group ran a school record 3:26.91 and moved up 3 spots to finish 6th in the Division I 4X400m relay. Our other athletes competed well and had the chance to compete at one of the top high school meets in the nation.

Only 3 meets remain; Cooper Invitational, Nick Finnegan Spring Invitational and the SPC Championships in Dallas. We are seeing great improvements across the entire team and are looking forward to the next several weeks of training and competition.
