THE WOODLANDS, Texas— The College Park Cavaliers defeated the Klein Forest Golden Eagles 28-0. Coach Lonnie Madison’s Cavs move to 4-2 overall on the season and pick up their second victory in the new District 15-6A.

College Park got off on the wrong foot when the Golden Eagles intercepted senior quarterback Jake Hunnicutt's pass on the opening drive. The pick would be one of the only mistakes by the Cavaliers, scoring 28 unanswered points after the interception. Junior tailback Quajon Charles added to his impressive season with two touchdowns, bringing his season total to nine.

All phases were clicking for the Cavaliers against the Golden Eagles. The special teams unit blocked a Klein Forest field goal in the first half returned 50 yards by Samuel Alverez to set the Cavs up in the red zone. Charles would score his first of two scores after the blocked kick.

Madison’s defense responded in a positive way after last week's 30-0 loss to Klein Collins with their second shutout of the season. Curt Evangelister intercepted Dylan Hamilton for the Cavs second touchdown of the night. Sophomore linebacker Dylan Hazen recorded three sacks and a fumble recovery in the College Park win.

College Park plays visitor to rival Oak Ridge next week Oct 12 at Woodforest Bank Stadium. Both teams are still looking to keep their playoff hopes alive in the tightly knit District 15-6A.
