2019 Hurricane Season Begins Tomorrow

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX - Tomorrow marks the beginning of hurricane season. The NOAA Climate Prediction Center has forecast a 40% chance that the 2019 Atlantic hurricane season will be a near normal season and a 30% chance of an above normal season. They also predict that 9 - 15 named storms could be in our future, of which 4-8 are expected to become hurricanes and 2-4 of those are expected to become major hurricanes of category 3 or higher.

The Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, elected officials and our partners continue to prepare for whatever this hurricane season will bring our way, but it’s also your responsibility to prepare yourself and your family for when a disaster strikes.
