Stranded Vehicle Leads to Felony Drug Arrest

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX - While on patrol on 6/26/19 approximately 10:00 PM, in the 1800 block of Riley Fuzzel, Montgomery County Constable Pct 3 Deputy Wolsey observed a stranded motorist and stopped to assist. The driver of the vehicle had locked his keys in the trunk of the car and was trying to locate the trunk release button in the car. Deputy Wolsey observed a Xanax pill in the door handle. The driver did not have a prescription for the Xanax and was detained. During a search of the car, a baggie with more Xanax was found along with a baggie of cocaine and THC cartridges for e-cigarettes. The driver identified as Austin Shofner was charged with felony drug possession and booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
