Defendant Nicholas Chase Cunningham sentenced to Life in prison for role in January 2018 Aggravated Robbery case

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- On Monday, August 19, 2019, Defendant Nicholas Chase Cunningham was set for jury trial in Cause Number 19-01-00877 for the offense of Aggravated Robbery in the 9th District Court of Montgomery County, Texas, with Judge Phil Grant presiding. Just prior to jury selection, the Defendant, represented by Dennis Yates, opted to plead guilty to the offense of Aggravated Robbery and true to two enhancement paragraphs, resulting in a possible range of punishment of 25 years to life in prison. Assistant District Attorneys Donna Berkey and Brittney Aaron presented testimony and evidence over two days detailing the investigation, Cunningham's gang membership, and testimony of the victims of Cunningham's crime, after which Judge Phil Grant assessed a life sentence. Cunningham will be eligible for parole after he has served 30 years.
