CONROE, TX – Meals on Wheels Montgomery County (MOWMC) is preparing for their largest fundraiser of the year, the fourth annual “The Great Pumpkin Shoot – Aiming To Feed Seniors” sporting clays tournament on October 25, 2019 at the Blackwood Gun Club in Conroe, TX, to benefit the homebound elderly of Montgomery County.

Community sponsorships help defray expenses and feed more seniors. SWBC is the presenting sponsor for the
fourth year in a row.

“We are grateful to SWBC, Entergy, Planet Lincoln, Milstead Automotive, and Vitruvian Exploration for being a
part of this event every single year”, stated Louise Crider, Board Chair for Meals on Wheels Montgomery County.

Other community sponsors are Cigna HealthSpring, Clear Captions, Dr. Scott Young Woodlands Dentistry, First
Financial Bank, Green Financial Group, Great American Title, Insperity, Kevin Baker Homes & Real Estate,
Memorial Hermann The Woodlands, Nettles and Co. Property Tax Consulting, The Strong Firm, Stull Inspections,
and Woodforest Wealth Strategies. Sponsorships are still available beginning at $300. Every sponsor receives
recognition at the Great Pumpkin Shoot, on the MOWMC website, in the program (deadline Oct. 15) , and
signage at the event. Sponsors may also opt to have promotional items in the registration bags. Interested
sponsors and teams are encouraged to contact Sarah Redfield at sarah@mowmc.org or 936-756-5878 as soon as
possible or signup online at www.mowmc.org/the-great-pumpkin-shoot.

All levels of shooters are invited to attend and sign up! Registration includes breakfast, 72 clays, ammunition,
golf cart, a delicious lunch catered by Avenida Brazil, raffles and trophy awards. New this year is a Pumpkin Blast
before the shoot begins and after the competition finishes! What is a Pumpkin Shoot without pumpkins?

“This is a fun event with a large auction that encourages both shooters and non-shooters to participate in an
event that makes a significant impact on our underserved vulnerable senior population,” said Summer Day,
Executive Director, MOWMC.

Founded in 1973, Meals on Wheels delivered 143,473 nutritious meals this past fiscal year to the fragile
homebound senior population. Each meal delivery is accompanied by a friendly smile and conversation, helping
to reduce senior loneliness. These visits also serve as a safety check, ensuring each senior is safe in their home. Meals on Wheels Senior Rides program helps eliminate the isolation associated with the inability to drive, while providing much needed transportation services to doctors, dialysis, grocery store, and other appointments.

Volunteers are always needed to help with delivering meals, events, prepare mailings, and assist with program
needs. The Angel Tree needs volunteers to connect with clients to establish their needs for the Angel Tree Gift
Program. Email Carrie Hymen at carrie@mowmc.org or view the calendar page on the website.
