Meals on Wheels Montgomery County’s mission is to foster the dignity and independence of homebound seniors by providing home delivered meals, transportation and caring connections. Events like Cigars under the Stars raise crucial funds to provide service to the homebound elderly who want to stay independent in their own homes. MOWMC has a waiting list and receives 50 calls a month from seniors seeking assistance.

“The past few weeks have brought a lot of uncertainty for all of us. But one thing we do know for certain is we will continue to do everything we can to help local, homebound seniors. Seniors are reportedly the most at-risk population when it comes to COVID-19. We are taking extra precautions to continue to provide nourishment and security to our seniors. Our goal will always be to keep this vulnerable population safe and nourished”, stated Summer Day, CEO and Executive Director of MOWMC.
