THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Ready, Set, Riva Row: The Riva Row Boat House welcomes residents and guests back for fun on the water! Boat House staff members look forward to seeing you again and are waiting to take your reservations for kayak rentals, stand up paddle boards and swan boats.

'We’re excited to be able to open various facilities and programs in The Woodlands, under safe protocols,' said The Woodlands Township Chairman Gordy Bunch. 'We will be making more decisions at our next Board of Directors meeting.'

The meeting is currently scheduled by video conference at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2020.

The Woodlands Township is committed to providing residents and guests with a fun environment while still keeping safety as a top priority. A newly-implemented reservation system is available with parties booking in 10-minute intervals in order to follow safe social distancing measures. To make your reservation for fun on The Woodlands Waterway and Lake Woodlands, please call 281-210-3965. Please note, to eliminate cash/card handling on-site, all payments for reservations must be made over the phone. No cash will be accepted.

Enhanced sanitation and safety measures have been implemented to ensure safe usage of the kayaks, life jackets, paddles and swan boats. Boat House staff will also wear masks as recommended by the CDC. Enhanced sanitation procedures include:
Twice daily, at opening and closing, all non-porous surfaces at Riva Row Boat House will be wiped down, including: boat house offices, exterior door handles, window ledges and restrooms. Each surface will be sprayed with a disinfectant solution then wiped down with a clean towel. Areas of focus include but are not limited to: interior and exterior door handles, countertops, phones, laptops, sinks, toilets, hand dryers, etc. Disinfecting will be a part of the daily opening and closing duties.
After each use and at closing, common touch points of swan boats, kayaks and stand up paddle boards will be disinfected (i.e. paddles, life jackets, seat area and rails on kayak near seats).
Each time that an item is cleaned, it will be logged in the respective daily checklist.
The Riva Row Boat House is located at 2101 Riva Row, within walking distance of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and Market Street, as well as the many free parking lots south of Riva Row.

Single kayaks rent for $15 for an hour, and tandem kayaks and paddle boards rent for $20 for an hour. Swan boats rent for $25 for an hour. A valid ID is required for all rentals, and there is a two-person maximum per kayak. Liability waivers can be completed online at www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/rivarowboathouse.
