Meals on Wheels Montgomery County Awarded $13,000

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX - Meals on Wheels Montgomery County (MOWMC) is pleased to announce they have received a $13,000 award from the Ball Corporation.

The grant funding is part of Ball Corporation’s $5 million pledge to support communities worldwide during the COVID-19 health crisis. Ball Corporation supplies innovative, sustainable aluminum packaging solutions for beverage, personal care, and household products customers, as well as aerospace and other technologies and services primarily for the U.S. government.

MOWMC continues to deliver meals to local seniors with additional safety measures in place. Chef John and his team prepare fresh, nutritious meals that are delivered to homebound seniors throughout the 1,000 square miles of Montgomery County. During these times of uncertainty, food insecurity is at an all-time high. An increasing number of seniors find themselves homebound as fear of going out and being exposed to COVID-19 continues daily.

MOWMC Director of Development, Kristen Perkins stated “We are thankful to be a recipient of this generous award from Ball Corporation’s local plant in Conroe. Community support is crucial during this time of crisis as the need grows. 340 seniors were on the waiting list for home delivered meals in April. This generous gift will provide 2,364 meals and a much-needed sense of security for these fragile seniors. On behalf of the clients we serve, thank you!”
