The Woodlands Township Board holds videoconference meeting

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Township Board of Directors held its regular meeting via videoconference on Wednesday,?August 26, 2020 at 6 p.m.?

Before addressing agenda items,?the Board of Directors issued a proclamation in recognition of retiring President/General Manager, Don T. Norrell. Mr. Norrell has served as Township President and General Manager since 2006. During the historic transition of the Community Associations and Town Center Improvement District to The Woodlands Township, Mr. Norrell was responsible for coordinating, directing and managing all activities related to the consolidation of services, which took effect on January 1, 2010.

Mr. Norrell initially had set the retirement date for April 2020, but due to the global pandemic, the board extended his employment on two different occasions to June 2020 and then to August 2020. The Township recognizes, honors and thanks Don T. Norrell for his service to The Woodlands and proclaimed Wednesday, August 26, 2020 as Don T. Norrell Day.

The Board of Directors took the following actions on the Consent Agenda:???

Approved a Park Use Agreement with Interfaith of The Woodlands for Veggie Villages.
Approved revisions to The Woodlands Township Personnel Policy Manual.
Approved purchases of equipment related to COVID-19 response.
?The Board of Directors discussed the following matters on the Regular Agenda:??

Took no action related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic.
Accepted an update from the San Jacinto River Authority on operations within The Woodlands.
Accepted the financial report.
