THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Township will host the 23rd Annual Woodlands Landscaping Solutions event on Saturday, September 26, 2020. This free event, which provides residents with resources for creating beautiful, earth-friendly landscapes, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Sterling Ridge Park and Ride, 8001 McBeth Way, The Woodlands, TX 77382.

The drive-through event provides residents with free items to enhance their lawn and garden, including native plants and seeds, water-saving devices, children’s gardening kits, wildlife feeders, compost and informational handouts. There will be a limit of one item per vehicle. Supplies are limited, so attendees are encouraged to come early.

Compost bins and rain barrels are available for purchase in advance for pickup at the event. Compost bins can be purchased by phone at 281-210-3900, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each bin is $50 (half off the retail price). Rain barrels can be purchased online at www.thewoodlandsgreen.org/rain-barrels for $85. Woodlands Water Agency offers a 50 percent rebate, lowering the price to $42.50. Please bring a copy of your receipt to the event for pickup.

To ensure social distancing, participants will remain in their vehicles at all times during the event. Residents are asked to wear face coverings to protect themselves and others. Volunteers will place giveaway items in vehicle trunks.

Residents are also invited the following week for five days of online gardening and landscaping education. Learn from the comfort of your own home about rainwater harvesting, organic vegetable gardening, natural pest control, composting, lawn care, pollinator gardening, bird watching and much more.
