THE WOODLAND, TX -- The Oak Ridge War Eagles return to Woodforest Stadium with a 2-0 record after a dramatic 25-22 win over Stratford last week. Thursday night, The Ridge hosts the Humble Wildcats (2-0) with an opportunity to start 3-0 for the first time since 2017.

Against Stratford, Oak Ridge jumped out to a 15-0 lead but surrendered 22 points in the second half to find themselves trailing with less than two minutes to go. A late TD pass from Nick Osborne to Scott Hickey gave the War Eagles the win. WR Landon Lightsey had a strong performance, recording five catches for 118 yards in the win.

Oak Ridge has been impressive defensively so far this season. Through two games, offenses are averaging just 14.5 points per game. This defense will be tested in Thursday’s matchup with the Wildcats, as they are averaging 42 points a game this season.

Humble QB Jeremiah Price scored four touchdowns (three passing, one rushing) in the 35-14 win over Cypress Springs. The Wildcats are also getting great production from their RB X’Zavier Sidney. Sidney rushed for 140 yards, his second-straight 100yd game, and a touchdown on 19 carries last week.

A matchup between two undefeated teams, one with great offense and the other with great defense, should make for a must-see game at Woodforest Stadium. Prediction: Oak Ridge 31, Humble 28 (F/OT)

Thursday’s game will be a Woodlands Online Livestream sponsored by The Woodlands Dental Group and RE/MAX. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 P.M.
