THE WOODLANDS, TX --

Oak Ridge 54, Katy Seven Lakes 50

The Oak Ridge War Eagles secured win number 12 on the season in a hard-fought battle against a talented Seven Lakes team. The War Eagles were led by Nikki Petrakovitz and Raniyah Lewis who both hit some big shots on their way to scoring 18 and 12 points respectively.

Oak Ridge had to dig their way out of a hole in the first half. The Spartans had success pressing the War Eagles into some early mistakes and combined that with an impressive performance by Justice Carlton, who finished with 23 points.

The second quarter is where The Ridge began to settle in and take over the game. Petrakovitz and Allison Owens helped ignite a run midway through the second quarter. Petrakovitz hit a three to cut the deficit to three, then with just under three minutes to go in the half, Emei St. Laurent’s nice post moves gave Oak Ridge their first lead of the game.

The War Eagles started the second half with a 32-24 lead and a three from Logan Fuller started things off on the right foot. Oak Ridge turned their defensive intensity up to the next level and gave the Spartans a taste of their own medicine. Turnovers came in bunches for Seven Lakes and it led to plenty of quick buckets on the other end. Fourth-quarter three-point shooting from Petrakovitz and Lewis extended the lead to double-digits, which was enough cushion to hold off a late push by Seven Lakes.

Oak Ridge (12-2) Next Game: @ Lake Creek - 12/29

College Park 47, Cy Falls 34

The Cavaliers went on the road and defeated Cy Falls to earn their third-straight win. Treasure Harrison nearly had a double-double on her way to leading the team with 15 points and nine rebounds. Gracie Garcia followed with 10 and five steals, Ali Diop and De’Avia Jackson added eight and seven points respectively.

College Park (8-5) Next Game: @ Klein Cain - 12/31
