HS Basketball Scoreboard: Oak Ridge Girls fall to Memorial, Conroe Boys beat Porter

Memorial 67, Oak Ridge 55

The game was tied at 55 with about three minutes to go, but the War Eagles got out of sync at both ends of the floor and it led to just their second loss of the year. Nikki Petrakovitz, Allison Owens, and Raniyah Lewis turned in productive performances despite the loss. Petrakovitz led all scorers with 21 points, including 12 points from three-point land. Owens finished with 13 points, Lewis was right behind her with 12.

Oak Ridge opened the game on an 8-0 run, but it didn’t take Memorial long to get caught up to speed. The War Eagles led by nine at the half, and eight at the end of the third quarter, but Memorial continued to get hot, especially hitting some big threes to stop Oak Ridge from running away with the game. The Mustangs stayed hot just as Oak Ridge got cold and that was the difference between the two down the stretch.
