Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for May 14, 2021

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, would like to encourage residents to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

St. Luke’s is offering first and second doses at Woodforest Stadium today without an appointment. MCPHD has appointments available for those 18 and older at Woodforest Stadium on Monday, May 17th. Please go to mcphd-tx.org to register.

Other hospitals, physicians’ offices, and pharmacies also have vaccines available for all adults. Please check their websites and Facebook pages for additional information. If you have questions, please call the Montgomery County COVID-19 Call Center at 936-523-3916. The call center is available Monday - Thursday from 8:00am - 4:30pm or Friday from 8:00 - 4:00pm.

Today, we can confirm:

• TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 69 to 53,574 since Thursday’s (5/13) report.
• ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 decreased by 90 to 1,312 since Thursday’s (5/13) report. On Tuesdays and Fridays, we account for additional inactive cases who we have been unable to contact for 30 days or more. Today, we added 125 inactive cases bringing the total of inactive cases to 23,441.
• 76 county residents are known, as a result of contact investigations, to be in the hospital. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.
• 28,358 people have clinically recovered.

The Testing Positivity Rate for Montgomery County is 7%, down from 8% last week. This number is updated weekly on Wednesdays. Source: UT Health, School of Public Health
