The Woodlands Township honors those who serve at ninth annual Public Safety Awards

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Township honored 18 public safety personnel for going the extra mile to make The Woodlands a safe community as The Woodlands Township hosted the Annual Public Safety Awards, Honoring Those Who Serve.

Held Saturday, June 5, 2021, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center with hundreds of people in attendance, including honorees, guests, and community leaders, the event paid tribute to 18 individuals in public safety from The Woodlands Fire Department, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Montgomery County Hospital District, the Montgomery County Constable’s Office, Precinct 3 and Harris County Constable’s Office, Precinct 4. Each honoree was chosen by their respective department for exemplary service and dedication to public safety.

“Every one of these individuals ensures the safety and security of residents and visitors of The Woodlands,” said The Woodlands Township Director Jason J. Nelson who served as emcee for the event. “We commend them for going the extra mile in making The Woodlands a safer community.”

Here are this year’ Honorees and their Awards:

Firefighter Erik Secrest: Commendation Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to The Woodlands Fire Department.

Dispatcher Sarah Lindsey: Meritorious Service Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to The Woodlands Fire Department.

Driver/Operator Joey Hartman, Firefighter Travis Nicholson, Firefighter Jason Brown, Firefighter Manuel Adler and Fire Fighter Brandon Reade: Life Saving Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to The Woodlands Fire Department.

Jade Campbell, In-Charge: Life Saving Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to Montgomery County Hospital District.

Detective Jessica Epperson: Meritorious Unit Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to Montgomery County Constable’s Office.

Corporal John Ryan, Deputy Raven Lyons, Deputy Dennis Cowan and Deputy William “Joe” Frizzell: Commendation Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to the Harris County Constable’s Office, Precinct 4.

Detective Jeffrey Herman and Detective Jason Davidson: Commendation Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Sergeant Judd Russell: Meritorious Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Kelen Powell and Deputy Joe Thomason: Life Saving Award for distinctive professionalism and dedication to duty to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The Woodlands Township hosts this event each year, along with support and sponsorships from many other businesses and individuals in The Woodlands and South Montgomery County area. This year, the major sponsors were America’s ER, Woodforest National Bank, Alpha and Omega Mounted Patrol, and The Woodlands Development Company/The Howard Hughes Corporation.
