THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Fire Department was one of several agencies that participated in a mass casualty drill on Thursday, June 10, 2021 to simulate an emergency situation in managing multiple patients during a major event.

Crews were dispatched to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, where there was a report of an equipment collapse on the stage. Local volunteers played the role of injured persons and gave a realistic feel to the event.

“It was a great training opportunity made possible by the fantastic staff at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and all of the volunteers,” said The Woodlands Fire Department Fire Chief Palmer Buck.

Crews from Montgomery County Hospital District, South Montgomery County Fire Department, Timberlakes Volunteer Fire Department, Needham Fire & Rescue triaged and cared for over 60 patients as part of the drill.
