Warrior Boosters Sold Out Golf Tournament Benefits Woodlands Christian Athletics And Fine Arts
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The elements could not stop the approximately 100 golfers who participated in the 10th Annual Warrior Boosters Golf Tournament on Wednesday, October 27th at The Woodlands Country Club - Player Course. Though slightly delayed due to the heavy rains and thunderstorms that brought tornado warnings to the area early in the day, the tournament went off without a hitch. The event, sponsored by Waste Connections Inc. and chaired by Heather Cabanas along with Booster Committee Chair Kathy Tautenhahn, was completely sold out and raised over $60,000 toward the enhancement of TWCA’s athletics and fine arts programs.
“As a company, we want to give back to the community that we’re in,” Waste Connections Senior VP of Operations Jason Craft said. “We’re happy and blessed to be able to sponsor such a great event for a great organization like TWCA and Warrior Boosters.” Craft, who has two children at the school, added that “being outdoors amongst colleagues and friends in support of a great school is always going to be a great day.”
Throughout the course were opportunities to win prizes — including a Bentley for a hole-in-one — and participate in fun games like shooting a golf ball out of launcher and having a TWCA Warrior Golfer hit a drive for your team. T
his year’s tournament saw a thrilling finish with two teams — Charbonneau Industries, Inc. and The BrashearGroup/Carrie Muzny DDS — tying for 1st-place with (-16) 56s on their scorecard.
