THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Montgomery County Habitat for Humanity, Inc. (Habitat MCTX) is expanding its new home construction and repair programs to veterans in Montgomery County. Momentum Title hosted its fourth annual Habitat for Heroes soiree benefitting Montgomery County Habitat for Humanity. Brian Brewer, CEO, and the mastermind behind creating the Habitat for Heroes event has raised more than $300,000 to build new homes for veterans. The event was the impetus for Habitat MCTX to become a Veteran Build with Habitat for Humanity International.

In addition the organization has received a $75,000 grant from the Texas Veterans Commission – Housing 4 Texas Heroes. The funding will provide critical home repairs and modifications for low and very-low-income Veterans, Disabled Veterans (as determined by the Veteran's Administration), or their surviving spouses and dependents with priority given to very low and low-income beneficiaries in Montgomery County, Texas

Habitat homes cost approximately $60,000 to sponsor. That includes $10,000 for a foundation, doorknobs throughout the house cost $50, and every donation makes a difference to reach the goal of completion. Volunteers can sign up to work alongside professional contractors to build the home with step-by-step supervision as a group with coworkers or part of an organization, or alternatively on your own as an individual. Construction volunteers work alongside the family that will soon call the house “home”. Learn more about volunteering at www.habitatmctx.org/get-involved/volunteer-as-a-group.

Since 1989, Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, TX has worked with the loving hands of volunteers and donors to improve the lives of families and individuals through affordable homeownership. Habitat MCTX volunteers build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Volunteers and donors build the hope.
