THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Headed into our first weekend of December, it’s hard to believe that bells are jingling and sugar plums are dancing. For the next couple of days, we’ll be experiencing some unseasonably warm temperatures.

Warm and Wet Weekend?

Today we’ll reach a high that flirts with hitting the 80s but stops short at 79 degrees; however, the 82-percent humidity will add some extra perspiration to those braving the outdoors. Cloudy skies and winds hovering around 8 mph will keep it from becoming beach weather, however.

Tonight, our lows will hit the mid-60s, so your air-conditioning bills can breathe a sigh of relief. Tomorrow, however, some of the clouds will part and the sun will shine brightly enough for our first Saturday of the month to reach 80 degrees and a low dipping back into the mid-60s. Sunday will mimic Saturday’s weather, so if you head out to get some shopping done, leave the heavy ugly Christmas sweaters at home and enjoy a possibly final weekend of warm and dry 2021 weather.

The tale changes on Monday, however, as a cold storm front - or perhaps a stormy cold front? - hits The Woodlands, dropping the high down nearly ten degrees to 70 and a low that will plunge into the mid-50s, and bringing a 90-percent chance of thunderstorms along with it.

The front is expected to linger, hanging around until Wednesday (where the chances of continuing thunderstorms drop to 40 percent), keeping highs those days in the mid-60s and lows in the 50s. Come Thursday morning, however, the sun will finally peek through partly cloudy skies, and the only remnants of the previous storms will be wet streets and low temperatures in the 40s; the highs, however, will hold steady in the 60s for a couple of days.

By the time next week, we should be back at square one, with the Friday being dry-but-humid with temps in the 70s, and a sequel chance of rain for that weekend.
