AUSTIN, TX – Rockwall forced a sudden-death Game 3 against the Highlanders last night to see who would move on to the Regional Finals next week. Last night, The Woodlands struggled to find the strike zone but – with Tyler Sunseri on the mound – strikes were flying left and right.

Today, Rockwall once again got off to an early lead with two hits in the first inning, which brought in two runs. The Woodlands this time were ready for their chance to bat. Sammy York came up to bat and with a huge swing hit a two-run home run out of the park, tying the game up at two.

In the 4th and 5th is where Rockwall broke the tie, hitting one in each of the innings, making it 4-2. Once again, the floating strike zone was an issue for both teams but both Tyler Sunseri and Connor Doucet, with The Woodlands, were able to get the zone under his control.

Although Rockwall struggled to find the strike zone, their defense was able to stop many runs from crossing the plate. The Woodlands had one last chance in the bottom of the 7th but couldn't chip away at the 8-2 Rockwall lead.

Rockwall advances to the Regional Finals to play rivals, Rockwall-Heath.

The sports staff and everyone else at Woodlands Online extends its heartiest congratulations to the Highlanders for taking it so far this season and giving everyone who crossed their path a run for their money.
