THE WOODLANDS, TX – Local realtor – and proud possessor of a 2021 Best of The Woodlands award – Zach Richmond of Richmond Realty Group has started his yearlong presidency of Rotary Club of The Woodlands.

Local realtor continues tradition to bring service to the community

In a grand ceremony last month, Zach accepted the gavel from then-current president Theresa Wagaman, a realtor with Compass RE Texas, LLC. Theresa had enjoyed guiding the service club to record growth while holding weekly luncheons, galas, conventions, food drives, donations, competitions, and countless examples of community outreach.

“It has been such a joy, privilege, and honor to serve as president this past year,” said Wagaman. “I can’t wait to witness the continued successes of Zach and his newly installed board of directors.”

Richmond started his presidential reign this week at the club’s normal lunchtime meeting place at The Palmer Course of The Woodlands Country Club, presenting guest speaker Congressman Kevin Brady, who discussed the state of The Woodlands and what he’s been able to do for the area before he retires at the end of this election cycle.

“I want everyone – from our members to the community at large – to know exactly what Rotary of The Woodlands is all about and what we have done and plan to do,” said Richmond. “It was so exciting to start off my first meeting as president with Congressman Brady, and we have many more exciting guest speakers lined up for the next year.”

The Rotary Club of The Woodlands, which was chartered in May of 1975, is committed to both serve in the community and to fellowship and friendship among its members at its weekly lunch meetings. Rotarians who find their service most rewarding are those who get involved in any of the myriads of projects available. Members ring bells for the Salvation Army at Christmas, collect food and funds for the Montgomery County Food Bank, work to improve an area home for a needy family every year, conduct literacy campaigns, collect blood, immunize young people with the Shots Across Texas program, work with students, and provide thousands of dollars in scholarships every year.
