THE WOODLANDS, TX – With any luck, this will be our last week with highs in the triple digits. We’ll start off today with a few thunderstorms this afternoon, a clear overnight, a few days of hit and dry weather, and the threat of a week’s worth of rains and storms start on the weekend.

A damp start, a dry week, but watch out for the gathering clouds…

Let’s start off with today. The clouds that have been wandering through will finally bring some thunderstorms throughout the area around mid-afternoon. This will rapidly turn around our steadily rising temperature – settling around 97 but with a heat index of 103 – into a muggy and damp low of 77. The rains and clouds will both diminish as the evening progresses.

Tuesday we’ll enjoy mostly sunny weather with a high of 99, so don’t forget the sunscreen and head protection. We can’t stress this enough; the humidity will make it feel like 107, and that’s definitely in the danger zone. Late in the afternoon the clouds will return, with the barest hint of the possibility of some more precipitation.

Wednesday and Thursday will both have highs breaking 100 under partly sunny skies. Overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning the clouds will start to creep back in. Enjoy the sun and some outdoor events on Thursday, because starting Friday and extending well into next week there will be thunderstorms of varying intensities, bringing some much-needed relief to our yards. Another happy byproduct is that the temps will stay firmly in the mid and lower 90s, making us cross our fingers that highs in the 100s are behind us for the rest of the year.

Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
