HS Water Polo: Monday's District 13-6A Water Polo Recap

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The CISD Natatorium was host to the Oak Ridge War Eagles vs the Conroe Tigers as well as The Woodlands Highlanders vs the Grand Oaks Grizzlies.

As the game progressed the aggression began to increase as players would block a little too much. A warning to each of the teams was set as the hits to the face became too apparent and intentional. Conroe would edge out Oak Ridge in the end, 18-7.

The match was evenly matched as there were multiple ties and the halftime score was 6 up. The match stayed close but it was Conroe who was able to extend their lead late in the fourth quarter and take the win 14-12.

It was even through the first quarter then The Woodlands started to put more points on the board. By halftime it was 8-4but Grand Oaks stepped up and played a little more aggressive defensively and offensively. Although it was a tight match, The Woodlands was able to separate the score and win 13-10.

Once again it was a defensive battle and the score was kept low in the first half. The Woodlands would take a 7-5 lead going into the third quarter and keep it all the way through the match. Grand Oaks showed great defense as they stripped the ball a couple of times from The Woodlands. But it was The Woodlands who would run away with the win, 14-9.
