The girls on both teams played aggressive at the start but The Woodlands was able to jump to a quick lead taking the stress off head Coach Joe Flesch. The team was relaxed as they increased their score but was quickly met with aggressive attacks from the Cy-Ranch team. Going down a couple of points didn’t discourage the Mustangs but only encouraged them to increase their aggressiveness. The Highlanders responded only to get shut down as many throws hit the back of the net.
The game as a back and forward match with each team going point for point. The Highlanders were able to stop a couple of attacks from the mustangs but couldn’t shake off their pressure. Going into the final quarter, The Woodlands was able to pull away just enough and keep Cy-Ranch at bay. With a final score of 12-9 The Woodlands make their way to the “State” final with the other 3 finalist. This will be their first time to this round since 2016.
