THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Once again the CISD Natatorium was the host to a water polo tournament; this time the first ever Regional Quarterfinals. Rockwall, Heath, Tomball Memorial, The Woodlands, College Park, Oak Ridge, and Conroe were the teams competing to move onto the Regional Final Tournament which would be later this week.

Rockwall-Heath vs Tomball Memorial – Girls
Heath and Tomball Memorial were up first and went at it going point for point throughout the match. Hall (#7 Heath) would go on to score 9 of the team’s 16 points while King (#11 Tomball Memorial) would score 5 of the team’s 13 points. Rockwall-Heath will go on to the Regional Finals and face either Flower Mound or Hebron.

Rockwall vs The Woodlands – Girls
The Woodlands would come out aggressive in the first half as Rockwall’s defense stopped many attacks. Unfortunately for Rockwall, The Woodlands would keep pushing and putting pressure on the defenders which resulted in 12 points over all. The Woodlands will move on to the Regional Finals and face Southlake Carroll or Marcus later this week.

Oak Ridge vs The Woodlands – Boys
The third match of the night was 2 of the district teams, unfortunately one will be eliminated and the other will move on to the Regional Finals. The Woodlands would come out aggressive, attacking the net with many shots on goal. While Oak Ridge would play more conservative and try to hold back The Woodlands offense. The Woodlands would run away with the win against Oak Ridge, shutting them out in the fourth with a final score of 11-5.

College Park vs Conroe – Boys
The final game of the night was the most exciting as they went point for point with each other. Conroe would bring out the offense but College Park would attack the ball and force many turnovers. In the end Conroe would just pull away slightly resulting in a 12-10 victory with a couple of seconds left in the match.
