HS Water Polo: The Woodlands and College Park Take Wins at the Nat

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Once again, four games, four wins. College Park faced Grand Oaks and The Woodlands faced Oak Ridge Tuesday night at the CISD Natatorium.

College Park vs Grand Oaks – Girls

Both teams came out aggressive which made for a close match. Emily Burger with Grand Oaks made some huge plays on offense and defense to keep the Grizzlies in the game. Unfortunately, it was not enough against College Park. The Cavaliers take the win 11-8.



College Park vs Grand Oaks – Boys

From the first whistle, both teams came out aggressive creating turnovers on both sides of the ball. The College Park defense was on point keeping the Grizzlies at bay. The second half of the game College Park dominated the net, throwing 7 unanswered points on the board. The Grizzlies were able to chip away at the College Park lead but fell short, 22-16.



The Woodlands vs Oak Ridge – Girls

It was all The Woodlands in the girls match up of the night. The Lady Highlanders cut through the War Eagle defense and put up 13 points by halftime. Being aggressive throughout the game, The Woodlands was able to turn the ball over multiple times and capitalize on the other end of the pool. Oak Ridge takes the loss, 19-3.



The Woodlands vs Oak Ridge – Boys

The beginning of the game looked promising as Oak Ridge tied up the game twice in the first quarter. Water was splashing everywhere as players fought for the ball making it difficult to make any plays. By halftime The Woodlands led 8-5 but Oak Ridge quickly closed the gap. Although it was a defensive battle, The Woodlands was able to put more points up on the board and won, 17-10.
