THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Last year, the Montgomery County Food Bank was able to provide over 9.6 million nutritional meals through its network of over 70 partner pantries, local school districts, and community partners. Their vision is of a community where everyone has access to sufficient, nutritious food. On Saturday, February 11, 2023, the community will have the opportunity to help continue that vision at the Montgomery County Food Bank’s Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope Gala, located at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center. This year’s gala is presented by Woodforest National Bank.

Fighting Hunger. Feeding Hope.

Jim and Leigh Ann Carman will serve as the Gala’s Honorary Chairs. Jim is the President of the Houston Region at The Howard Hughes Corporation and member of the Food Bank’s Board of Directors.

Each gala has a unique and fun theme. Last year’s theme was rock ‘n’ roll and was titled “One for the Records.” The previous year’s theme was “Havana Nights.” This year, MCFB decided to go with a space-themed gala titled, “One Small Step.”

“One small step taken by each of us can make a big impact in the lives of our Montgomery County neighbors facing hunger,” said Kristine Marlow, President, and CEO, of Montgomery County Food Bank. “I strongly encourage our community members, local businesses, and organizations to get involved and turn one small step into a giant leap of hope for those in need.”

Tyler Schievelbein, Marketing and Communications Manager, said that 'the 2022 gala raised over $350,000 which helped provide up to an incredible 1.75 million meals. With Montgomery County Food Bank’s strong buying and sourcing power, every dollar donated to the Food Bank helps provide up to five meals.' According to Tyler, their goal this year is to raise $425,000, which will help provide up to 2,125,000 meals for our neighbors in need.
