Montgomery County Food Bank Holiday Drives Provides 440,000+ Meals
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Montgomery County Food Bank (MCFB) held its annual holiday food and funds drive, Holiday Helpings, from November 1 through December 31, 2025, presented by Waste Connections. Montgomery County residents, businesses, schools, and community organizations united to support neighbors facing hunger during the holiday season. Thanks to the incredible support from the 2025 Holiday Helpings Food and Funds Drive, Montgomery County Food Bank will be able provide more than 440,000 nutritious meals to those in need.
With the start of Holiday Helpings coinciding with the longest government shutdown in history and the first-ever suspension of SNAP benefits, the need for food assistance increased significantly. Neighbors turned to Montgomery County Food Bank more than 93,000 times to receive food in September of 2025. However, that number spiked to 111,000 in November 2025. This increase reaffirmed the critical role Holiday Helpings plays in uniting the community to fight hunger during moments of heightened need.
More than 170 organizations participated in Holiday Helpings this year, supporting Montgomery County Food Bank in a variety of ways, including:
• Sponsorships – Top sponsors included Presenting Sponsor, Waste Connections, and Spirit of Giving Sponsors: Enterprise Mobility, Kroger, Ovintiv, Scott Law Firm, and US Anesthesia Partners.
• Funds Drive Hosts – Participating locations received Donation Plate cards, featuring a QR code that allowed their network of customers, neighbors, employees, etc. to make a donation directly to the Food Bank. Every $1 raised provides up to four meals. Top fundraisers included Murex Petroleum Corporation, Hertha Metals, D.R. Horton, Spirit of Joy! Lutheran Church, and the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce.
• Food Drive Hosts – Participants were encouraged to collect Montgomery County Food Bank’s most needed food items to help fight hunger for countless children, seniors, veterans, and families throughout Montgomery County.
“The generosity we witnessed during Holiday Helpings was truly inspiring,” said Kristine Marlow, President and CEO of Montgomery County Food Bank. “At a time when many families were facing uncertainty, the Montgomery County community answered with overwhelming support. Having so many great organizations step up made it possible for our network to respond quickly and ensure neighbors across Montgomery County had access to nourishing food when they needed it most.”
