THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Mabrey Mettauer will lead The Woodlands Highlanders tonight for the Area Round in the UIL football playoffs against the Klein Cain Hurricanes at Woodforest Bank Stadium. The Highlanders placed second only to the New Caney Eagles, who are also in the second round of the playoffs, playing against the Tomball Cougars.

Mettauer and crew managed to defeat Nimitz in the Bi-District round of the UIL football playoffs last week and look to continue defeating their opponents by a massive margin. With a 73-13 win last week, The Woodlands has managed to hold their opponents to only two touchdowns in 6 of the 7 previous matches.

With weapons like Farrakhan Jr. and Shane Walker, The Woodlands will hit the endzone by any means necessary to move on to the next round. If they were to move on, they will be facing some huge opponents from the Dallas area, Duncanville or Wylie.

According to Max Preps, Duncanville is third in the state while The Woodlands is ranked 56th. It will be a monumental matchup if they were to collide in the next round.

Woodlands Online has partnered with the Highlander Radio Network to bring live audio during the game. Our very own Eric Endicott will have insights and highlights of the matchup during half time and will break back to Highlander Radio for the remainder of the game.

Be sure to share the link with friends, family and fans who can’t make it to the game.
