The boys’ grit and determination were on full display Saturday, where we fended off pesky Port Neches Grove in OT and mounted a late 14-0 run to beat Lumberton HS in the finale. Madison Rogers Tourney MVP

Coach B.J. Feuerhelm: I could not be more pleased with how the last week unfolded. Not only going 4-0 and winning a tournament but seeing how the girls responded to a slow start in the season. They really came together and showed a united front and desire to get better, and then proceeded to go out and do just that night in a night out in the four games we played this week. This was the ultimate team success story! We still have work to do but we are pleased that we are figuring some things out and trending in the right direction.
A special shout out goes to Madison Rogers for taking home the MVP award of the tournament.

VARSITY SWIM & DIVE

A small group of swimmers attended the HCYA Invitational before Thanksgiving break. Although the meet was not scored, the swimmers came out with some great swims, personal best times and some event wins! Leading the girls team was sophomore Monica Ianeva who won both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke. Junior Kyleigh Jeter won the 100 Freestyle and came in sixth in the 50 Freestyle. Freshman Maddie Wang had season-best times in both the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Freestyle.

On the boys side, freshman Zach Sheirr recorded his best time this season in the 100 Freestyle by almost half a second and freshman Dylan Tao swam his fastest 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle for the season so far.

We have been busy practicing for our next meet on December 10 where we will finish our competitions for this semester and begin to train and focus on our championship meets beginning in January.
