MCSO wakes up community awareness with ‘Coffee With a Cop’ event

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Sheriff Rand Henderson and his staff of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office recently held its latest community event, ‘Coffee With a Cop,’ at Luv Coffee in the Woodforest area just northwest of The Woodlands. Several deputies joined the sheriff to meet the community and enjoy fellowship, provide information, and update the members of the community.

“We’re so pleased to be out here in this part of Woodforest enjoying this great coffee at Luv Coffee,” said Sheriff Henderson. “Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about us at the Sheriff's Office.

The event is one of several that are scheduled throughout the year at different coffee-providing locations. Henderson maintains that it is events like this that provide an informal opportunity to have meaningful conversations and build relationships.

“In our strategic plan, we place a high priority on community events like this one; working with the community is paramount to our success,” said Henderson. “It’s essential that the community understands what we do and why we do it. Without the support of the community when we take action, we would be nothing. So it’s vitally important that we explain to the community the importance of law enforcement, and what they can do to help us as we help them, as it’s a two way street.
