Spring Creek Chapter NSDAR Presents Dar Community Service Award!

THE WOODLANDS, TX --Yesterdaay, Spring Creek Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution was proud to present Donna Hunter with the DAR Community Service Award!

Donna, a 25-year resident of the The Woodlands, serves her community in many ways. She is proud alum of the Texas A & M class of ’86 and puts her passion for the Aggies into her volunteer work. For the past three years she has served as the Board Secretary for The Rudder Association which is a grass roots organization of Aggies seeking to promote & protect the CORE VALUES and TRADITIONS at Texas A&M.

Donna also serves:
• Montgomery County Aggie Club – She creates the monthly newsletter that goes out to over 11,000 homes in the area with information and upcoming events for the Aggie Moms Club, Reveille Network, and the Montgomery County A&M Club.

• Reveille Networking - She serves on their Steering Committee and Charitable outreach.

• Montgomery County Aggie Moms – voted her in as a Ring of Honor Member for her outstanding service and continued help raising funds for scholarships even though she no longer has children at A&M.

• Secretary of the Montgomery County Aggie Scholarship Foundation Golf Tournament –s he helps find tournament sponsors and chairs the raffle event.

• She takes charge of the Montgomery County Aggie Scholarship Committee – February through Mid-March every year Donna works 16 hours a day responding to an average 350 emails a day from students and counselors regarding scholarship applications making sure that every application received is valid and that the high schools and the students know the club is awarding scholarships to incoming Freshman. This year 25 scholarships were awarded at over $2,000 each.

Donna is also a DAR member and has served on the Spring Creek Chapter executive board and as our National Day of Service Project chair. She is a vital member of our organization. Thank you Donna Hunter for all you do for our community.
