The Woodlands Township to Host Life-Saving Blood Drive Event on February 27, 2024

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Township will host a blood drive on February 27, 2024, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park, 6464 Creekside Forest Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77389. Residents are invited to donate blood to those in need. According to the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center basics, about one in seven people entering a hospital needs blood, and every two seconds someone needs a blood transfusion. Help save lives by donating!

Since the inception of the Commit for Life program, the unwavering dedication of blood donors has played a vital role in saving millions of lives, a contribution that the blood center deeply appreciates. Blood, with its life-saving components like red blood cells, platelets, plasma, and source plasma, remains irreplaceable and can only be generously donated by one individual to be transfused to another in need.

The necessity for various blood components is perpetual, ensuring a constant demand for donations. In the Texas Gulf Coast region alone, approximately 1,000 donations are required every day to meet the needs of patients relying on these life-sustaining resources. It is this ongoing commitment from individuals that ensures a robust and reliable blood supply, critical for the well-being of those we serve.
