The Woodlands Township Launches Pickleball Recycling
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Township has launched a new pickleball recycling program, further expanding its sustainability initiatives while offering pickleball players an environmentally responsible way to recycle used equipment.
This new effort builds on the Township’s ongoing success in athletic recycling. In 2025, The Woodlands Township earned the Green Ball Award after surpassing 10,000 recycled tennis balls, underscoring the impact of its tennis and pickleball programs in promoting environmentally responsible recreation throughout the community.
Pickleball players are encouraged to recycle used pickleballs at the following locations:
- Creekwood Park 3383 S. Panther Creek Drive The Woodlands, TX 77381
- Falconwing Park 5610 Falconwing Drive The Woodlands, TX 77381
- Windvale Park 7600 E. Windvale Circle The Woodlands, TX 77384
Please note that pickleballs can only be recycled through the special collection bins located at these parks. Pickleballs are not accepted in curbside recycling carts. Through this new pickleball recycling program, used pickleballs collected from designated locations will be shipped to P3 Cares, where they will be repurposed to support community and charitable initiatives.
For more information about the pickleball recycling program, please contact the Pickleball Program Coordinator at The Recreation Center at Bear Branch Park at 281-210-3950 or email pickleball@thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov.
