THE WOODLANDS, TX – Hana Reel, a sophomore at The Woodlands High School, recently received a grant in the amount of $10,000 from the Texas Commission on the Arts. Hana, a chamber choir member at the school, is one of only fifteen students from Texas to receive a grant from the organization.

“TCA is excited to announce and congratulate the 2026 class of Young Masters, 15 of the top teen artists in Texas,” announced representatives from the Commission in a statement.

The Butler Texas Young Masters, supported by the Butler Texas Young Masters Endowment, is a grant program that provides exemplary students in grades 8 through 11 with financial support to pursue advanced study in the areas of visual arts, literary arts, music, theater, dance, musical theater, folk and traditional arts, and media arts.

Hana is the only Woodlands area student to be honored by the endowment. She will receive $5,000 per year for two years to further her studies in vocal work. Since the scholarship program’s inception in 2002, more than 430 grants have been awarded to nearly 200 students, investing more than $1.3 million in their artistic development.
