UPDATED: Election results for Montgomery County

UPDATED 11:00 p.m. - With 100 percent of precincts reporting in, here are the Montgomery County results for the runoff elections:

Republican Party ticket

  • United States Senator – Ken Paxton, 35,320 votes (72.69%) – John Cornyn, 13,267 votes (27.31%)
  • Attorney General – Mayes Middleton, 30,759 votes (63.92%) – Chip Roy, 17,364 votes (36.08%)
  • Railroad Commissioner – Bo French, 26,098 votes (56.51%) – Jim Wright 20,087 votes (43.49%)
  • Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 3 – Thomas Smith, 25,914 votes (59.06%) – Alison Fox, 17,967 votes (40.94%)

Democratic Party ticket

  • Lieutenant Governor – Vikki Goodwin, 3,487 votes (79.41%) – Marcos Isaias Velez, 904 votes (20.59%)
  • Attorney General – Nathan Johnson, 2,490 (56.78%) – Joe Jaworski, 1,895 (43.22%)

While statewide results won’t be fully tabulated until well into tonight or tomorrow, the Montgomery County results are uniformly indicative of statewide results so far.

THE WOODLANDS, TX – With polls closed and Election Day votes being counted, the Montgomery County Elections Commission has released the results of early voting for the runoff election for the GOP and Democratic Party primaries.

On the Republican Party ticket, for the race for United States Senator, Ken Paxton is leading John Cornyn with 21,821 early, absentee, and mail-in votes over Cornyn’s 7,133 votes, leaving Paxton with 71.5% of these votes. For Attorney General, Mayes Middleton currently holds a 9,000-vote lead over Chip Roy, leaving him with 65.3% of the vote. For Railroad Commissioner, the race is closer with Bo French leading Jim Wright with 57.6% of the vote. For Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 3, Thomas Smith is leading Alison Fox with 57.8% of the vote.

On the Democratic Party ticket, for the race for Lieutenant Governor, Vikki Goodwin is leading Marcos Isaias Velez 2,334 early, absentee, and mail-in votes over 530, or 81.5% of the vote. For Attorney General, Nathan Johnson is holding a 350-vote lead over Joe Jaworski with 56.3% of the vote.
