Library Events in The Woodlands – July 27 - August 1, 2026
THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands enjoys two amazing libraries within the Township borders – the George & Cynthia Mitchell Library located at 8125 Ashlane Way, and the Kevin Brady Library located at 2250 Buckthorne Place – that are open Mondays - Thursdays 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Fridays - Saturdays 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (closed Sundays).
Beyond having tons of books to check out, these libraries also offer computer / internet services, reference and research services, movie check-outs, classes, workshops, activities, and more. Woodlands Online presents this weekly summary of what each week has in store.
All library events, programs, and classes are free and open to the public. If any individual requires an accommodation to participate in the library events, programs, or classes, please contact the host library location at least three days before the program or event. Some events require registration. Classes and events with full already-full registrations are not included in this list. Events are subject to change without notice.

Monday, July 27
Teen Craft: Shrinky Dinks
5:30 - 7:30 p.m., Room 102
Teen Shrinky Dinks-Shrinky Dinks can be used for jewelry, keychains, pins, and lots of other projects. You bring the imagination, and they’ll provide the supplies (and the snacks). Registration requested. Teen events are intended to encourage social participation among 12-18 year-olds, so age limits are strictly enforced. Parents/guardians of 12 year-olds must remain in the building for the duration of the event, per the library’s unattended child policy.
Tuesday, July 28
Family Storytime
9:30 - 10:00 a.m., 10:30 - 11:00 a.m.
This story program is for children (ages 3 - 5) and a caregiver with an emphasis on stories and activities for preschoolers. This program emphasizes early literacy skills and is a great way to meet other families with young children. Entrance is first-come, first-serve, until the room or program is at capacity. Space is limited; please limit the number of adults in your group to allow more children into the program. Please attend one storytime each week to allow more children into the program. Children must be supervised by an adult. Food is not allowed in the program; please save your snacks for afterwards.
Internet Safety
10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
In this day and age, there are many different ways bad actors can attempt to steal information online. This beginner-friendly course covers essential skills that are necessary to stay safe while browsing the web. Registration required at montgomeryco-george-tx.whofi.com/calendar/event/1331999.
Color Time
2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Come join children aged 6 - 11 to explore the world of color, creativity, and music. During Tunes @Two, children will be able to color and create art inspired by the music that they hear.

For Teens SAT Bootcamp
6:00 - 7:30 p.m., Computer Lab Room 214
Teens aged 15 - 18, prepping for the SAT can attend as few or as many sessions as they like. This program was designed by a student scoring 1500 on his SAT. Bring your own device or use a library computer. Registration has closed for this event.
Saturday, August 1
Teen Career Seminar
3:00 - 4:30 p.m.
Library partner, Careers For Life, hosts obstetrician/gynecologist Dr. Lewin Staine. Listen to a doctor’s experiences in the workplace, ask questions and learn more about the medical field, and discover how career choices impact daily life. Ready to design vibrant, custom creations? Join the orientation session and learn how to use the Sawgrass SG1000 sublimation printer and heat press like a pro. This session will cover the sublimation printer and heat press capabilities, operation and best practices, and everything you need to start creating personalized projects. Completion of this orientation is required before you can book time on the sublimation printer at the Kevin Brady Library Innovation Lab. Cricut Orientation
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Are you ready to design fun creations using a variety of materials? Join the orientation session and learn how to use the Cricut Venture. This session will cover the Cricut, Design Space, and best practices – everything you need to start creating personalized projects. Completion of this orientation is required before you can book time on the Cricut Venture at the Kevin Brady Library Innovation Lab. You must supply your own Cricut Smart Supplies to book the Venture. Children 13 - 18 must be accompanied by an adult during orientation and appointments. Class will be held in the computer lab.
