The Woodlands Township Parks & Recreation Department seeks volunteers for fall and winter events

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Township is replete with events for everyone all year round, and the Parks & Recreation Department has put out a call for volunteers to help bring these events to life for the rest of 2026.

Volunteering for special events is a tangible way to support the community while gaining hands-on experience. Opportunities are available throughout the year and may include setup, guest assistance and event support. School community service hours can be provided upon request.

Events needing volunteers for this fall include:

  • 2026 Labor Day in The Woodlands – Sunday, September 6 – Kid Zone volunteers will monitor the craft station, assist with distribution of crafts, and keep craft areas as clean as possible at Waterway Square.
  • 2026 Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas – Thursday, October 8 through Saturday, October 10 – Volunteer opportunities include Packet Pickup, Bag Drop, Start/Finish Line, Hydration Station, Course Monitor, Waterway Course Marshall, Athlete Food Area, and Green Team. Volunteer positions available vary per day. Click the link below for specific position information including responsibilities, location, dates and times.
  • 2026 Trick or Treat Trail – Sunday, October 25 – Volunteer opportunities include Carnival Games, Costume Contest, Kid Zone, Candy Stop, and Candy Trash Collectors.

Additionally, winter volunteer opportunities are coming up. Interested parties can start planning their end-of-the-year team or group volunteer outing. Events include Lighting of the Doves – to be held on Saturday, November 21 – and Glow and Go – held this year on Saturday, December 5.
