From now until November 1, students in grades 1-12 in The Woodlands, Conroe, and Spring areas (including home schoolers) can enter the Climate Champions Youth Art Contest – Texas Edition. This free educational contest aims to provide students a unique opportunity to have a voice in helping to safeguard the Earth through the power of art.

Academy Award winner and clean energy advocate Louis Gossett, Jr., will be a celebrity judge for the event. Gossett has been seen in film and television in projects such as An Officer and a Gentleman, Roots, and Watchmen.

Winners in each grade category will receive prizes, including Visa Gift Card cash prizes, t-shirts, and certificates. The contest deadline is November 1. The contest is produced by Climate Canaries, a local youth climate awareness organization.

Other judges include Patricia Zapata, award-winning Art Director, Designer & Paper Artist; and Kevin Kirk, US Golf Olympic Coach, PGA Tour Player Coach, and PGA Teacher of the Year.
