Entergy Texas winterization efforts in place ahead of cold weather

Entergy Texas is taking proactive steps as winter weather moves into Southeast Texas. A statement outlining our preparedness and winterization efforts is available below.

“Winter weather is expected to move into Southeast Texas. Our teams are ready and closely monitoring conditions. We’re adjusting resources based on the latest forecasts to help ensure reliable service. Each year, before temperatures drop, we prepare our system through proactive winterization efforts, including:

• Protecting and insulating critical equipment to withstand colder temperatures
• Inspecting and maintaining generation units, substations and transmission lines
• Clearing right-of-way areas to reduce the risk of outages from fallen trees or branches
